rev. No. 03, 24 May 2023

This information is construed in accordance with the regulations providing the methods for informing and acquiring consent from users regarding the use of cookies and addressed to website managers (EDPB “Guidelines 5/2020 on consent pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679“, Privacy Guarantor Measure no.229 dated 08/05/2014 “Identification of simplified procedures for information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies“, Measure of Italian Privacy Authority, 10 June 2021 “Guidelines for cookies and other tracking tools”).

The https://www.lagiovane.eu website, as any other modern websites, uses cookies to optimise the browsing experience.

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites send and store on the user’s navigation device when users visit a website; they are transmitted back to the same sites on the next visit. It is thanks to cookies that a website can remember the user’s actions and preferences (e.g. login data, chosen language, font size, display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be selected again when the user visits the same site again or navigates from one section to another within the website. Cookies, therefore, are used to perform IT authentications, monitor sessions and store information regarding the users’ activities when they access a website and may also contain a unique identification code that allows to track the user’s navigation within the website for statistical or advertising purposes. Some operations could not be carried out without the use of cookies, which, in certain cases, become technically necessary for the operation of the website.

Categories of cookies

There are several types of cookies, depending on their features and functions, and they may remain on the user’s device for different periods of time: for instance session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s device until a predefined expiry date.

Under current Italian laws and regulations, the user’s express consent is not always required for the use of cookies. Namely, “technical cookies”, i.e. cookies that are necessary for carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communication network, or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user, do not require such consent. These cookies are, in other words, indispensable for the operation of the site, for safe and efficient navigation and/or to perform activities requested by the user.

Analytical or statistical cookies”, including third-party cookies, are comparable to technical cookies provided that they are used to produce aggregate statistics, avoiding the possibility of directly identifying the data subject. This type of cookie provides support for purposes of statistical analysis, improvements, simplified operation of the website, as well as to monitor its proper functioning. They are transmitted directly by the website domain or by third parties.

For the use of non-technical “tracking cookies” or “profiling cookies“, i.e. cookies whose purpose is creating profiles of the user and sending advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when surfing the web, on the other hand, the user’s consent is required before access. Consent must be freely revocable at any time thereafter.

Technical cookies

Our website uses technical cookies that are necessary for the proper functioning of the website in a way that is limited to what is required for safe and efficient navigation and to improve the website operation. Technical cookies are also included for recording the choices made by the user in relation to the use of cookies.

No personal data is acquired in this respect. The use of session cookies (which are not stored persistently on the user’s computer and disappear when the browser is closed) is limited to the transmission of session identifiers necessary to enable the safe and efficient exploration of the website.

The website also includes specific persistent technical cookies, including cookies enabling the recording of the consent given by the user to receive different categories of cookies.

The use of technical cookies does not require the user’s consent but it requires adequate information to be provided to the user.

Profiling cookies

Third-party profiling cookies are included on this website in connection with the presence of content from external websites. Profiling cookies transfer personal information and are used by third parties to provide users with personalised services, ads and marketing campaigns relevant to the preferences specified by the user.

The use of tracking/advertising cookies requires the user’s prior consent.

Statistical cookies

At the moment there are no analytical/statistical cookies on our website.
